IMPROV ISN'T JUST FOR IMPROVISORS

A professional improv class is a fun and engaging way for anyone to develop quicker reflexes, build self-confidence, foster creativity, and increase spontaneity.

Over the course of six weeks, you'll learn the fundamentals of improvisation in an environment that rewards you for trying new things and letting go of your fears. We'll cover techniques, games, and ideas that teach you how to be a more comfortable, confident version of yourself while preparing you for what lies ahead.

Our introductory course, i101: Foundations of Improv Comedy is now enrolling, and no experience is necessary. For more information or to register, click the button below. Let's do this.

The fun is always on the other side of a ‘yes.’

Oh. You skipped the button. Hmm. Weird.

Maybe you're just scroll-happy, or maybe you have some questions. Here are some of the common ones:

Q: "I'm about to sign up for my first improv class. Why should I choose Old Town Improv Co.?"

We're incredibly proud of our training program; we've spent years crafting a professional, innovative, and well-designed curriculum. Our teachers have been doing this work for a long time, too. In fact, they're some of the most experienced improvisors and instructors in San Diego.

Also margaritas are right next to the theater.

"Are i101 students expected to do a show or perform outside of class? Because YIKES."

Not unless you want to. Some of our advanced classes feature student performances, but we believe in making sure folks have enough training to feel comfortable before they step in front of an audience. We offer a lot of students nights, which give you a chance to meet and perform for other students. They're encouraged, but not required.

"I've already had some improv training. Do I need to take i101?"

Nope. While we believe that it's always great to brush up on the basics, folks with prior improv experience often qualify to skip straight to our advanced programs.
