EFFORTLESS IMPROV with ADAM RAICHEL!

IMPROVISE LIKE is OTIC’s new class series where we ask some of our favorite improvisers to teach the secrets of their improv philosophy and playing style that they’ve honed over years of trial and error.

About this class: Whether you're an experienced veteran or a relative newcomer, this class will help you identify and address possible weaknesses in your game. All sessions will be determined by the students individual needs. This is a dense class full of on-your-feet exercises, organized around daily points of focus!  If you have known challenges you would like to target, feel that you've plateaued, or you're just feeling "in your head" too often, this is the class for you!

  • When: Saturdays, April 20th - May 11th from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

  • Where: 2415 San Diego Avenue #103, San Diego, CA 92110

  • Who: This class is for students who have completed an improv training program (3 levels minimum) or with instructor approval.

About the instructor: Adam Raichel has been studying, performing in, teaching, coaching, and directing improv since 1999. He got his start in New York with UCB and Chicago City Limits, then moved to Chicago where he graduated from the Improv Conservatory Priogram, the Accelerated Writing Program, and the Directing Program at the Second City Training Center, as well as the Improv program at IO. He was then a member of the faculty at The Second City Training Center for seven years, teaching in both the Improv and Comedy Writing programs. Over the course of his improv experience so far Adam has performed with short form, long form, audience interactive, and musical improv groups in New York, Chicago, and San Diego. He can currently be seen performing with Old Town Improv Company's short-form Showdown show and long-form Improv Vs Standup show, for which he is the improv coach.


About this class: In three weeks you will learn and practice many hilarious and fun short form games. You’ll learn the techniques behind the magic of Dr. OTIC’s Showdown show. This is an ongoing series, each course will introduce a few new games and continue perfecting games from last session.

  • When: Class meets for four consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 PM

  • Where: 2415 San Diego Avenue #103, San Diego, CA 92110

  • Who: This class is for intermediate or advanced improvisors interested in learning techniques to master the hilarious art of short form. No prior short form experience required.
